Said Congresswoman Mimi Walters, “In our current economic state, now, more than ever, the American people need solutions that will move this country forward. Unfortunately, in the President’s State of the Union Address tonight, we simply heard more of the same tired rhetoric and failed policies that involve more government and more federal spending.

“Investing in America means working with Congress to provide pro-growth, common-sense solutions that will put the 8.7 million unemployed Americans back to work and grow our economy from the ground up. We must empower the individual –not Washington – and support policies that make it easier for those seeking to achieve American dream.

“In the House, we have already worked to pass legislation that will spur job creation - but we cannot act alone. We need the President to come to the table and work to be a part of the solutions that will strengthen our economy and benefit all Americans.

“It is my hope that the President will listen to the voices of the American people, and join the House and Senate in advancing solutions that will help create a better future for all Americans.

“America’s New Congress is ready to get to work – I hope the President will join us.”
