Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representatives Mimi Walters (CA-45) and Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), co-chairs of the 2015 Congressional App Challenge, released the following statements after announcing the launch of the second annual Congressional App Challenge (CAC). The CAC will run nationwide from November 9, 2015 through January 15, 2016. Winners will be selected by local judging panels, and honored by their Member of Congress. The winning apps will also be featured on a display in the Capitol building.
Said Rep. Walters, "I welcome all high school students throughout the nation to participate in the Congressional App Challenge. This competition represents the opportunity for young people to explore and showcase their talents in computer science and STEM disciplines. I look forward to seeing the creativity and ingenuity our nation's most talented youth have to offer."

Competitions such as the Congressional App Challenge are exceptionally important because they cultivate the next generation of great American entrepreneurs.
